      In ISE, Geometry is a collection of entities. Each entity is either a Mesh, or an instance of a Mesh.

    • SceneX
      Scenex is Icarus' XML-based file format, containing all visual assets (geometry, textures, etc..). Each scenex set comes as two files, an XML "header" file, and a binary "data" file that contains mass binary data. This is done to enable fast loading of assets, and for >2Gb assets, while maintaining easy editing of scenex definitions (i.e. the material information is in the readable .scenex file, whereas the raw vectors, normals, mipmaps etc.. are all in the associated .scenexb file).

    • Surfaces
      A "Surface" is a behind the scenes render buffer for rendering to a texture. The Surface may have a colour and/or depth buffer. for fast control of specific material features, a Surface acts as a filter against specific Material Components (i.e. only Emissive light, or Emissive and Specular, or Albedo, for example).
